Not a Panavise, but worth the money!

I was a bit doubtful when I ordered the 'rotisserie' , but I figured that with a new Panavise PC board frame and base cracking the century mark with shipping, I'd give one of these a try. I'm glad i did. We've been doing a lot of SMD work lately, and it's tough enough without chasing the board around the bench. Now I'm sorry I suffered for so long, a couple more of these are on the way. It had disassembled itself in the box, with the screws in the bottom loose, and the thread plates slid out of place, but after a couple of minutes, it was together. It has surprisingly heavy steel base rails (filled with something heavy), which along with the nice deep rubber feet, serve well to keep it from tipping or sliding around the workbench. There are 2 slotted board holders which rotate 360 ...

A bit Pricey for this product

This product would be good for working on phone circuit boards. Anything larger than a 4 x 6 pcb would not fit. The board does not hold securly into the vice requiring refit several times before you finish the job. I like the way it rotates 360 degrees however, if t he board becomes loose in the vice, which it does, then the board drops out which could cause damage to the board. This picture is misleading. It should be taken with a ruler in the picture to get a feel for the size of the product. The thumb screws that hold the pieces in place are very small and extremely hard to get tightened. Once tightened, then work themselves loose and require re-tightening during the job. Overall I would say don't buy this product unless you do work on very small pieces and have lots of time to ...

  • Sturdy and Handy

I acquired this because the "alligator clips and magnifier" option was ridiculously cumbersome when working with a PCB. I'm glad I have both, though. Handles pretty large boards, up to maybe 8 inches. Heavy enough with rubberized feet so it stays put on the workbench. The spring-loaded arm is a little finicky getting just the right compression and I would like the ability to move at least one of the arms without also moving the feet. But with use I'm getting the hang of it. Bottom line is that I didn't pay very much and yet it has greatly facilitated my soldering jobs. I wish I had bought one a long time ago.

  • FULLY ADJUSTABLE PCB HOLDER FRAME.....GREAT VALUE & PRACTICAL WELL DESIGNED TOOL !!!

GREAT VALUE & PRACTICAL WELL DESIGNED TOOL !!! ....VERY PLEASED WITH THIS PRODUCT & SELLER. RECOMMENDED WITH NO RESERVATIONS. Probably the best aid to soldering & PCB work since the soldering gun !!! While it isn't the industry standard (PanaVise), it is a very well made and thought out design. Sturdy but light weight. Spring loaded slotted jaws hold PCB's securely in place. Eliminates many of the awkward problems (rotating & flipping the PCB over) encountered involving 'not enough hands' when soldering....a good time saver. Perfect size (takes up minimium bench space) & a very practical solution for working on large to medium sized PCB...down to smaller PCB's. A GREAT VALUE for less than $20 !!!.... RECOMMENDED for anybody doing bench top PCB/electronics repair work...and would probably ...

  • I should have bought this years ago-

This makes repair work so easy! I used it the same day that It arrived to repair a power supply in a Yaesu FRG-7700 receiver. I was able to de-solder, test, and re-solder all of the transistors and capacitors in just minutes. The spring-loaded arm keeps proper tension on the board. Thumb screws can lock everything at any angle. I had no issues with a manual de-solder pump nor solder wick to remove parts. I even held round NMO antenna mounts to solder coax. The board is held at 5" off of the bench, so it is in a perfect position for use with magnifying glasses or small parts. No more leaning over to be in-focus with 5X magnification visors. For the price, you simply cannot go wrong.
