Outstanding value
I've had this product for about a year and have used it for Luminosity, Capacitance, Temp, Resistance, Frequency, A/C and DC voltages and for open/closed circuits. It is accurate and seems to be well made, especially for the price. I have a much more expensive meter (with fewer features) which was calibrated against ANSI standards and this meter stands up well in terms of accuracy to that one. It is not a pretty meter but it works exactly as advertised and that is what counts. Within specs except humidity
Got this for several secondary functions like lux, frequency, humidity and temperature in one auto-ranging package. Checking vs my reference low accuracy lab instruments (which would be high accuracy consumer grade instruments), the Mastech/CenTech meter is accurate within its specifications except for humidity. Note the light sensor is more directional than the standard, which for me has utility. Build quality is adequate. Operation with the frequency measurement available as both a standalone input & associated with the AC and DC ranges is a bit confusing. Audio alarm & visual guidance on probe sockets to use is convenient. Update: I like this meter despite the humidity being off. Nice to have so many functions in one package. Inexpensive tool for tinkerers and DIYers
After getting this device I ran it through the paces of checking everything as I was in the middle of a stereo amp repair at the time. So I was able to use the heat sensor to find the mosfet that was underperforming, find the dead diode and capacitor that were causing issues, ensure the signal was reaching the audio point cleanly, and also measure the dB of before and after the fix. The device feels chunky and solid and I had no issues with any of the functions. Unfortunately I cannot tell if it's 100% calibrated since I do not have a more expensive device to test against but everything appeared to be within tolerances.
