The B&K Precision 2704C kit digital multimeter (also known as a multitester) is an average-sensing, manual-ranging meter that measures current, voltage, resistance, and capacitance, and performs diode, continuity, logic, and transistor common-emitter gain (hFE) tests in electrical applications. An audible continuity sensor confirms a circuit conducts electricity, and a diode test detects proper functioning of a circuit's diodes. The hFE test measures a transistor's common-emitter gain, and a logic test analyzes digital signals. A data hold function keeps a reading on the display for recording, even after the meter has been disconnected. The LCD is backlit for readability in low light.
