MC 909 // Virus // Equipment test: Electro House Stylee" title="MC-909 // Virus // Equipment test: Electro House Stylee" alt="MC-909 // Virus // Equipment test: Electro House Stylee" />

Hi guys, Well...I eventually paid for the synth of my dreams. I got the ancient Access Virus Classic for an extraordinary price. Hooked it up, connected all my rigging by a mixer and my Behringer Tweakalizer, strike a couple of buttons and this is what came out. It's not unequivocally a balance - some-more me messing about with a dual club loop, but hey, suspicion I'd upload it anyways. Comments welcome. Thanks for watching. icon smile MC 909 // Virus // Equipment test: Electro House Stylee

@AntifaGuerilla Hey man...hmmmm well it's a tough call but it really depends what you're after. The 909 has a sampler built in, plus a sequencer and a synthesizer as well, but the sampler is honestly limited compared to the MPC. The MPC doesn't have a synth in it so it depends what you're wanting to do! I would say go for the MPC personally, if you're into hip hop, and get a excellent sample CD for the house sounds. :]

How much would this set(/equipment) cost in second hand?

  11. siedgey on July 8th, 2010

@DJjHill Haha thanks for the comment man - hope you get many years of pleasure out of twiddling real knobs as opposed to virtual ones. :)

I like this groove! This has convinced me to toss aside the PC and MIDI controllers and go with a setup like this... really really excellent! Keep it up! I'm a fan...

Nice vibe, excellent jam! Hope you still delight in making music!

  19. aspidistral on July 8th, 2010

Cool, man. Certainly loved it. Having knobs on the kit you're tweaking sure avoids the MIDI bandwidth hassles, too.

I forgot to mention before, that I really like the hats from the 909; really crystal clear and clean, and sit really nicely in the top of the mix. I reckon these are a lot cleaner sounding than the analogue drum machines I've played with.

I'm replacing my bread and butter hardware with software, and trading up for more exotic hardware.

  20. siedgey on July 8th, 2010

Hi there, thanks a lot for the comment! Playing about with hardware is certainly a lot more fun for software - you can't beat a hands on live jam.. :)

  21. aspidistral on July 8th, 2010

Hi, really nice jam. Nice kind of swing throughout.

I haven't sequenced in hardware for years - not since an all CV/Gate studio. I reckon I have pretty much forgotten how much fun it can be. Your jam is pretty inspiring.

    Cheers
